Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Phone number and display name — when you log in or RSVP to an event. Your phone number is your account.
• Event and RSVP data — events you create and your intention status (interested / going / can’t make it) on events you respond to.
• Uploaded screenshots — flyer screenshots you submit for extraction may be stored, together with the extracted and corrected event details, to improve extraction quality.

How we use it

• Sending one-time login codes you request.
• Sending RSVP reminder texts for events you explicitly opted into — at most one reminder text per day, and only until you give a final answer.
• Replying when you text us (event list, help).
• Showing your name and RSVP status to other people on the same event.
• Improving the flyer-extraction service.

What we don’t do

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories above exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; that information will not be shared with, or sold to, any third party. We do not sell your data, and we do not send marketing messages.

Service providers

We use vendors solely to operate the service: hosting and storage (Vercel), SMS delivery (Twilio), database (Neon), and AI processing of the screenshots you submit (for event extraction). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.

Opting out & deletion

Text STOP to any of our messages to stop all texting immediately (START to come back, HELP for help). To request deletion of your account or data, email contact@thefunction.nyc.
